Claude Code Video Toolkit
Claude Code Video Toolkit is a repository of commands, templates, code, and media utilities for producing videos inside a Claude Code workspace. It suits developers and technical content teams who are comfortable editing a project and want a repeatable route from a script to an MP4. The included structures cover sprint reviews, product demos, and short explainers; the author describes using the toolkit for Digital Samba's own sprint review videos.
A good first step is the hello-world example: from examples/hello-world, run npm install, then npm run studio to preview or npm run render to export. That path requires Node.js but no media API keys. To build a guided project, clone the repository, open Claude Code in it, run /setup for optional services, then /video. The latter helps choose a template and brand, gather source material, and plan scenes. The getting-started guide also documents manual template copying if you prefer to control the files directly.
The repository overview lists commands for recording browser demos, reviewing scenes in Remotion Studio, generating voiceover, and creating or editing brand profiles. Projects keep a project.json with scene, asset, and phase status, so a longer production can resume across sessions; the project system documentation explains that structure. Optional Python tools handle tasks such as music, image generation, and video generation through external providers or cloud GPUs. Those features need their own setup and may incur provider charges. Expect to check the script, visual accuracy, timing, and rights to supplied media before publishing: the toolkit provides an editable production workflow, and the repository's examples do not establish that every prompt will yield a finished video without review.
Example use cases
- Suggested application: Turn a sprint's release notes and recorded app flows into a short internal update, with a reusable brand profile for each edition.
- Suggested application: Make a product feature walkthrough, recording browser interactions and reviewing the resulting scenes before rendering.
- Suggested application: Prototype a vertical explainer using the short-form template, then compare a plain render with a version that adds generated narration and music.
